The Roosevelt Hotel Bar is a neighborhood bar located on the edge of the French Quarter and Canal Street, serving as a gathering spot where tens of thousands of locals and visitors alike have come together to enjoy great drinks and good times for over 28 years. Located within a historic 17th-century building, we’re happy to be a humble spot with a respectful nod to our block’s history in New Orleans.   • Yes! Reserve Roosevelt Hotel Bar for Your Next Private Event or Film Production. Our timeless interior, with its open concept layout and floor-to-ceiling cantilever doors, has hosted everything from intimate birthday celebrations to spirited pool and dart league championships. Every year, we welcome corporate gatherings, fantasy sports drafts, and celebrations of all kinds within these walls, which have witnessed decades of New Orleans history.

  • The Roosevelt Hotel Bar was founded in 1997 and opened for business in 1998. At the time, the big hotel next door was the Fairmont Hotel. Our founder, Mr. George, picked the name, "The Roosevelt Hotel Bar" as sort of a "tongue in cheek" left handed joke. The Fairmont Hotel had been named the Fairmont Hotel for over 60 years at the time. It was only the old Huey Long stories and myths that kept the buildings previous name, the Roosevelt Hotel, alive. So we had fun with it. Being the only real "Roosevelt" business in the book, we would get calls every week from some very old folks talking about their family events and weddings held at the "Roosevelt" back in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. When the hotel next door reacquired the "Roosevelt" name they started a dustup with us over our name; but their building had abandoned the name some time back in the 1900s.   • Yes! We are located only a short distance from the Superdome. Come to pre game and walk to kickoff at the Dome or stay and play pool and have some drinks. We would love to have you here.
